The Play:
A new musical renegotiating the collective memory of the wives of Henry the Eighth. A seance in a deserted classroom at midnight; six schoolgirls summon the spirits of Catherine Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleeves, Katherine Howard, and Katherine Parr. Through music the spirits have returned to exorcise their memory away from victimhood and claim agency over their stories. Modern context collides with old belief systems of patriarchy in Tudor England. As the story unfolds modern audiences realize how much (or how little) has changed since women were valued at no more than property of their husbands.
